ROLE: Marketing/Promotional Representative

Position Overview

Reporting to the President/Owner, the Marketing and Promotional Representative is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans for the organization.  This individual will review the existing marketing plan and propose their own ideas to enhance and develop an increase sales growth.  The marketing and promotional related activities will maintain the product brand through various channels meeting measurable objectives and goals of the marketing program.

 Essential Job Function

  1. Operational Management – A full understanding of our business model will enable this individual to comprehend the structure and the needs of our clients.  A review of the operation and the quality control system will be evaluated with the marketing and promotional program in mind.  The goal is to attract and retain clients through this program.  Ability to work within this structure to fully answer inquiries. Work with our site coordinators to monitor activities and determine when and how to launch marketing related activities within the region and or demographics. Maintain our brand and determine areas of focus to enhance the brand and therefore loyalty to our business model. Work with the President/Owner to set and review marketing / promotional budgets.  To work within and maintain spending within the budget.

    2. Product Development – Identify areas of weakness within the organization that affect the marketing / promotional goals.  Assist with the restructure of the marketing / promotional program to reach and retain new clients. Contact prospective clients to set up personal meetings to introduce the concept and or new features of our product.  Build and maintain relationships with our existing clients.  Identify challenges that may affect retention and develop a marketing / promotional program to address the same.  Develop a sales follow-up program to ensure quality control and identify areas of success and challenges. Identify industry conventions, seminars, attend and implement a promotional plan. Identify selective industry related activities with the intent on identifying sponsorship opportunities while promoting our brand at the functions. (i.e. golf tournaments, curling bonspiels etc.)

3. Sales Development – Identify the diverse needs of various industries we serve.  Implement varying and specific plans for different markets. Develop and maintain sales that will ensure effective and transparent transactions while adhering to the Privacy Act.Review our website and ensure that our sales activities mirror our statements. Identify regional needs and implement specific sales approach within those regions.


  • Business or marketing/promotional studies
  • Sound understanding of marketing principles
  • Ability to reach out to new customers and new markets
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present to groups
  • High level of attention to details and accuracy with excellent organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and creative with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Full understanding and ability to navigate in-depth searches of the internet
  • Full ability to use Microsoft word and excel along with shared calendars
  • Ability and flexibility to travel within Canada for 2 to 3 days consecutively
  • Ability to work flex hours

When you are new to an on-line auction bidding platform, it can be slightly confusing. We provide regular posts with help and advice, enjoy our latest Barga tip. created this short video to help potential buyers register to bid and log- in.

In this Barga Tip we also share:

  • Navigation tips, such as location of the salvage items at a glance, or within a listing.
  • What tab to select when you would like to ask a question on any particular item, etc.

Recently we have had a number of questions and enquiries on the Facebook page. We try and be as responsive as we possible, however if the enquiry is requesting additional details on a particular item then you will need to register with us. After registration, you will receive an email from us with your password.  Go back to the bidding platform , sign in, and select the item you have a question on.  Select “how to” (located just under the product name).  It is here where you can email us your questions. At this point, we will contact the seller with your question, getting back to you once we have the answer.

SHOPPING IN YOUR AREA? Wondering how to find location of salvage items near you?

A frequently asked question is “where is a particular piece of salvage located”?

Our latest Barga Tip explains how simple it is To find out if the insurance salvage item you are interested in is your shopping area.

Go to our the home page and select “latest auction” 

You will see the screen below, hover over the latest auction tab, at the top of the menu bar.
At this point, a dropdown menu will reveal the categories of insurance salvage.
Simply select a category (all items will show within the category along with their locations) .
Once you select a category, you will see a screen like the one below, scroll down the page to see items and their locations. If you see an item you are interested in, select the item.

At this point you can read all details on the item:  The description, the location (under the tab “details”) , or if you would like to email us and ask any questions!  Note: You will need to be registered to email us.  (registration is free).  This is also the area where you can place your bid if you wish to do so. 

If you are simply “window shopping” and you want to see the location of all items/categories – then look for the tab on the upper left hand corner called “auction” – Select this.   At this point, scroll down the page and on the left hand side of the page are all the categories listed.  Again, select your category.

Once you are used to the bidding platform, you can view all items listed – select the item and view it’s location under “details”

Go ahead and navigate around the platform!   Remember, if you have any questions, just ask!

If your interested in bidding, but your not quite sure how to go about it… Here is some information to help step you through the process. (we have attached images to help)
1) Go to the bidding platform: link here:

2) Register ! (it is located on the left hand panel of www) or direct link here:
You will receive an email from us shortly after registering with your log-in details.

3) Log-in: Locate the Log-in button on the auction platform. Link here:

4) Once you are logged in, you will see the various categories of salvage on the left hand panel, or you can simply scroll through all items listed.

5) Once you are on an item you would like to bid on – (for example the image attached shows a fridge) find the minimum bid location and place your bid. If you want any answers on a particular item look for the “details” tab and you can then email your questions.

6) Take note of when the item will begin to close – in this case it is March 8th at 6:00 – check before the auction ends to see if you have been outbid then stay online at 6:00 in order to place another bid if someone outbids you.

7) If you win the bid – we will send you an invoice, once payment is processed we contact the insurance company, find out the details on location and you can either pick it up, or hire a courier to pickup for you and deliver the goods. Shipping is additional cost to the courier.
